Data collection

The developer does not collect data from PocketDAW. The app contains no advertising, tracking, analytics, developer-operated account, cloud-sync service, or third-party crash-reporting SDK.

Projects, audio, lyrics, and permissions

Projects, imported media, recorded audio, lyrics, settings, analysis results, and exported files are stored on your device or in locations you explicitly choose through Apple’s file picker. Microphone access is used only for recording that you start. File access is used for imports and exports that you choose. You can delete projects in the app, remove exported files in Files, or remove the app and its local container through iOS or iPadOS.

Optional LM Studio connection

You may connect to an LM Studio server that you control on a reachable local or private network. The server and model run on your computer, not inside the iPhone or iPad app. PocketDAW validates the endpoint and shows the destination, selected model, and categories of information before you send a request. The developer does not operate or receive data from this server.

Studio Assistant sends the message you write and disclosed project structure, mix settings, and measured audio statistics. Separate, initially off controls let you also share track and bus names, saved lyrics, or recent conversation. Text you type or paste into your message is sent as part of that message, including any names or lyrics you include yourself. A request can involve bounded follow-up tool exchanges with the same server. Changing the destination or model, or narrowing name or lyric sharing, turns off conversation sharing. You can stop an active request; stopping cannot recall information already delivered to your server.

Raw audio, media bytes, file paths, and credentials are not included in Assistant context. Optional connection credentials stay in app memory and are used only to authenticate with the configured server; they are not saved in conversations or portable projects. The older numeric mix-advice flow remains limited to project identifiers and revision, sample rate, editable parameters, measurements, goals, and omission facts, with its own per-request approval.

The server operator controls any server-side logs or retention. Clear Conversation in PocketDAW cannot erase information already sent to that server. Core recording, editing, lyric tools, and deterministic mix advice work without LM Studio.

Local Assistant history

Assistant keeps a bounded local text conversation for each project, separate from the portable project package. Up to 24 recent text messages and 128 KiB are retained per project. Tool execution authority and connection credentials are not stored in that history. Conversation sharing with a model is off by default. Use Clear Conversation to remove the app’s local conversation record. These records are excluded from the app’s backups and are not synchronized between devices by PocketDAW.

Children

PocketDAW is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.
